Basic Info
Name:Hermione Granger
Birthdate:09-19
Bio
Name: Hermione Granger
Age: 17
Gender: Female
House: Gryffindor
Bloodline: Muggleborn
Hair color/style: Brown / Bushy and almost entirely unmanageable when left to its own devices, Hermione's hair can be a force to be reckoned with. usually she doesn't do more than brush it out and attempt to tame the frizz, mostly because it takes hours for her to get her hair resembling anything remotely sleek and sophisticated, and she's much too practical for that sort of thing.
Eye color: Brown
Other appearance details: Hermione will never be described as pretty unless she takes a terribly long time to get that way. She is, at best, average. If you're feeling generous, or if she's having a particularly good hair day, she can attractive, but no one will ever wax poetic about Hermione Granger. And really, she doesn't care. It's nice to get all dressed up and be glamorous once in a while, but there are plenty of things in life much more important.
Family: Her parents are Muggle dentists, and she has no siblings.
Pet(s): A large ginger cat named Crookshanks who just may be more than he seems.

Positive personality traits: Hermione is loyal, determined, and steadfast. Once she puts her mind and heart into something, very little can deter her, much less distract her. She would give her life for Ron or Harry without a moment's hesitation, but at the same time, she's practical and isn't about to go throwing herself in danger recklessly. She is also intelligent, and has an excellent memory; nearly anything worth knowing about Hogwarts or magic (as long as it can be found in a book somewhere) you can ask Hermione about and get a prompt, very nearly quoted answer.
Negative personality traits: She can be just a wee bit obsessive. And by a wee bit, I mean you almost have to knock her out and drag her away from a scene that you don't want her meddling in if she's set her mind to do something. Hermione also thrives on championing what she sees as neglected peoples, and even if her interference is really unwanted, she finds it difficult to accept the truth. She overanalyzes things and spends too much time planning, whereas the best solution would be, at times, to simply go with it. She has a fairly serious outlook on life and disapproves of many things, including even casual rule-breaking, so she can be a boor to be around -- and Hermione is not one who is quiet about her disapproval.
Best and/or favorite subject: Arithmancy; it's terribly difficult, very interesting, and she's ever so good at it.
Worst and/or least favorite subject: Divination by leaps and bounds. She thinks it's a flaky sort of magic that isn't worth spending time on when you could be in a useful class like Arithmancy, learning something worthwhile. (Many suspect Hermione loathes this subject in particular because she is, quite simply, not good at it.)
Occupation: Student, sixth year Gryffindor. At present, Hermione is undecided on what she wants to be when she graduates; there are so many choices, and so many interesting, useful things she could do. She's begun considering a position in the MoM, though she's yet to voice this to Ron or Harry, given their experiences in the past with bad leadership. Hermione thinks, however, she could make a difference -- especially if she rose high enough to become the Minister of Magic.
Unique quirks: Hermione isn't a very quirky person. She's down-to-earth and stable most of the time, though she has been known to lose her head a bit in a crisis. ("But there's no wood!") However, most would consider it odd that she reads her textbooks for fun.
Character's personal boggart: At the beginning of her sixth year, Hermione would most definitely see the same boggart that she saw in her third year, only this time, it would be Professor McGonagall telling her she'd failed all of her O.W.L.S. Hermione is deeply insecure and depends entirely too much on her intelligence and success in class; therefore, perhaps the only way to render her completely defenseless would be to rip away all of the confidence she has gained through her efforts and intelligence.

Brief history: Hermione led a fairly normal life for a Muggle, though she was an overachiever even then. When the Ministry of Magic took notice of her, she was surprised, as were her parents, but they agreed to allow her to attend, as Hermione was so excited about it.

Excelling in regular life had become almost too easy for her, and here was a perfect opportunity to test her limits and learn about something that most people didn't even know existed. She attacked her textbooks in a fashion that was almost unhealthy, going so far as to leaf through them even while standing in line to purchase them. Her parents were mostly amused, though slightly uncomfortable by the entire Wizarding concept.

They have become gradually more comfortable with the idea over the years, and Hermione has fit into the Wizarding world quite well. She doesn't have an amazing amount of friends -- never did, really -- but the few she has are sincerely her friends, and she would do anything for them.

Even break a rule or two. Once in a while.

Anything else: Hermione has a bit of a mother hen complex. Once she gets close to someone, she worries excessively about them, and has been known to be very nearly smothering when attempting to take care of them or stop them from hurting themselves.
